If you have served at least one day of active military duty since December 7, 1941 and received a discharge under honorable conditions or you are still serving active military duty honorably, you are eligible for membership with The American Legion.

Note that when you have paid to join, you will be assigned automatically to an "at large" Post 1000. You can then choose a local post to switch to and join.
